What is the Greensboro Business League?

We Advocate for Transparency and Accountability

“Our goal is to organize, educate, advocate and litigate on behalf of black-owned businesses, when necessary.” – Earl Jones, co-founder Since April 2018, our purpose has remained the same: to cultivate economic opportunities through contracting, financing, and procurement in the greater Greensboro and Guilford Count, North Carolina to increase diverse and equitable access to spending in the private and public sectors. How? We Advocate. We Organize. We promote. We build relationships. We elevate and empower you.

How we Advocate on Your Behalf:

Our ongoing advocacy has a direct impact on local Black and minority-owned businesses and organizations. Here are some of the ways we work with and connect you with opportunities:

t
Public-Private Partnerships:

Receiving additional bandwidth via a public-private partnership can be an excellent vehicle for facilitating an economic infrastructure for Black and Minority-owned enterprises.

t
Fiscal Return-On-Investment:

Black enterprises in East Greensboro generate tax revenue and contribute to the area’s tax base via substantial fiscal impacts. This means that there is a direct return on investment of tax dollars (government loans, grants, etc.) that justifies public investment in the community.

t
Capital Investment:

Advocating for capital investment in Black and Minority-owned businesses and industries with high “economic multipliers” means that there will be a greater economic impact and benefit. Business incubators could be an additional avenue to leverage capital investment.
